RS6K again and again !
Hi Folks,
working in a new job, I found a room with some unused RS6k machines (really
working there is only a 7009-250 and four 7011-3BT), all with AIX but no one
remembers the passwords and there is no installation disks around.
So...these machines are excellent to restart a linux attemp to MCA and old
machines, that I know a lot of people worked around. There is many infos and
pages on the net, but nothing "easy going" like a HOW-TO and we know PPC
works well for just a few models after 72xx "tru IBM" boxes. I would like to
start something usable with those machines, because they are old but still
robust enough to do the job. Any one interested to hack ??
The first thing, I'm looking for the original testimage of David Weiss (see at
http://www.sjdjweis.com/linux/rs6k), or any material/image that someone
worked to boot such machine in the past. Unfortunately, the main source of
information at http://www.dgmicro.com/mca/ is not working properly and I can
look the patches.
So...back to work.
