ibook video and sound problems

I've got my 2001 ibook (dual-usb) up and running under linux just fine
save for a few small issues with sound and video.

1st problem: Sound seems to work fine in games like frozen-bubble and
such, but whenever I try to open xmms or rhythmbox I get an error saying
there's no device. here's a copy of my /etc/modutils/sound

alias char-major-14 soundcore
alias sound-slot-0 dmasound_pmac
alias sound-slot-1 dmasound_pmac
alias sound-service-0-0 dmasound_pmac
alias sound-service-0-3 dmasound_pmac
alias sound-service-1-0 dmasound_pmac
alias /dev/dsp dmasound_pmac
alias char-major-14-3 dmasound_pmac
alias char-major-14-0 i2c-keywest
alias /dev/mixer i2c-keywest

2nd problem: Video seems to work fine with the old ati rage mobility
128. It's got a mesely 8mb of video ram, but hey, it works.
Unfortuantely, I can't get the games like frozen-bubble or tuxracer to
work in full-screen. All that appears is some garbled color schemes. Any
ideas?

/etc/X11/XF86Config-4:

Section "Device"
Identifier "ATI Technologies, Inc. Rage Mobility M3 AGP 2x"
Driver "ati"
BusID "PCI:0:16:0"
VideoRam 8192
Option "useFBDev"

EndSection

the screen is running at 16-bit color at 1024x768. Any ideas as to how
to solve these problems?

Thanks in advance,
