ask apple.com or developer.apple.com, I can't remember where I found my  
update that time.

That is the thing behind the open..

For an explanation on how to boot your kernel manually, read the  
yaboot-howto, especially chapter 9  
(http://penguinppc.org/bootloaders/yaboot/doc/yaboot-howto.shtml/ 
ch9.en.shtml).

By the way, if you are not able to start your kernel "by hand" the  
problem might be something totally different.
