yaboot depends entirely upon OF for input and output devices, so if
your keyboard does not work with OF then it won't work with yaboot
either.

that said you should still be able to use any USB keyboard with OF,
though you will have to have a 104 key model if you want to break the
boot process into OF itself (typical PC keyboard this is
Alt-windows-O-F).  I know this works on at least the older models,
perhaps apple proprietarized things in more current machines.

are you using a PS2 to USB adapter? if so that could potentially be
the problem.  Also be sure the keyboard was attached when the machine
was powered on, OF is unlikely to fully support hotplug.

You might also try a different keyboard, unfortunatly most keyboards
are of very low quality these days, its quite possible the USB
circuitry is poor and non-spec.  Apple hardware has a tendency to be
less tolerant of broken hardware then typical PeeCees.
