Uninstalling Yaboot on Macintosh PPC NewWorld computers (onlyMacintosh users reply please)
Hi all,
I'm wanting to completely reformat my hard disk deleting every operating system installed on my G4 iMac. At the moment I'm running a duel boot system with MacOS X on one partition and Yellow Dog Linux 3.0.1 on the other. Yaboot is currently installed as my OS selector. What I need to know is, where exactly is Yaboot located on my hard disk and how do I safely remove it? That is, is it on the partition where the Linux OS is installed, is it on the partition where the MacOS X is installed or is it on a special hidden partition such as the Bootstrap?
If Yaboot is located on the bootstrap will formatting the hard disk with MacOS X's Disk Utility erase Yaboot, or does Disk Utility leave the Bootstrap untouched?
Please note that even if a complete format would erase Yaboot, I still need to know how you would erase Yaboot separately without erasing everything else.
Any help you could provide would greatly appreciated.
Cheers,
Steve
